I have never tried any NC Star product that would hold up under recoil from a real firearm, scopes red dots, lasers etc.

Good move. I once saw a pretty good bullseye shooter waste a day trying to zero one of their (NCStar) holo sights on a Beretta Neos that belonged to a friend. That turd would NOT zero @ 50'

I put a 80.00 3x9 variable scope with lighted reticle on a AR15,I never did get it zeroed,I checked the scope mounts to make sure they were tight,I actually at one point shot a 5 shot group at the bullseye at 100 yards, and every shot didn't hit within 6 inches of the others,my next shot was with my AR10 at 100 yards, target was A NC Star 3x9 lighted reticle scope

Not sure if you have a rifle or handgun you want to scope. If it's a rifle, for under $50 you can get a Simmons "22 Mag" 3-9x32 scope complete with rings. I have two of these on .22 rifles, and for my money they are hard to beat. (I also have a $300 scope on another .22 rifle, so I'm not speaking from strictly a "cheapest is best" perspective.) Simmons, Bushnell, and Tasco all have scopes that are lower dollar (no frills) and highly suitable for a rimfire rifle that you don't want to sink a ton of $$ in to optics.
Konus would be another good one with a lifetime guarantee.
