    Question Gun Butter

Hey, everyone, I searched for this but cannot find anything on previous posts, forgive me if it's been discussed to death....

Had anyone had any experience with, recommend, or hate Gun Butter?

Seems to be an end all be all for lubrication, from what they say, but I don't hear anyone talking about around here... and seems to me, I am in the company of some of the foremost experts in the field, so, I am looking for recommendation or the opposite before I shell out all that money. This stuff seems too expensive to be no good, but P.T. did say that there was one born every minute!

    Thank in advance,
    ~B~

I've heard that Gun Butter is very good stuff. I've not tried it myself as I went on a "which lube is best" craze some time back and I still haven't sufficiently tried all of them yet. I so far have tried the following: Prolix Xtra-T lube, Millitec, FP-10, Weapon Shield. I've so far been most impressed with Weapon Shield for a 1911 Dan Wesson application due to it's very slick properties. I also really liked Prolix much too.

I like Gun Butter for the rails and internals on my 1911's. I use EEZOX for exterior rust resistance. Both good products.

I first use Eezox all over my CBOB and then I put a drop of Militec-1 on the rails and internals (the CBOB loves it). And the gun smell good to . I have tried FP-10 and Weapon Shield, but I think that Eezox is much better.

I've got a small jar of Gun Butter in the shop, that I've had for years. The only thing I did not like about it, as far as I can remember, is that it seems to collect dirt and grime faster that other lubs.

I just went down to the shop to make sure it was Gun Butter. It is not - it is "Pro Gold". But I'm sure it acts the same. If anyone wants it I will be more than happy to mail it to you.

Gun Butter works great on rails for 1911's ..it kinda hangs around. I also Shooter's Choice Fp10. Given the choice...I'd go with the butter. Mind you it's a lube...not a cleaner.
My Fav cleaner is M pro-7.
    Choose as ya wish.

I use Ballistol for clean/lube but I use Gun Butter on the slide rails. Great stuff.
