    Bubba Sorta-Sonic Cleaning Device

I recently ordered the 1 gallon Dunk-Kit from Cylinder & Slide, which is a bucket of their special cleaning solution to soak guns and parts in. I've been happy with it, but not being one to let good enough alone I began to think that if sitting there soaking was good, then wooshing it around in the stuff would be better. How to woosh it?

Behold Bubba's Sorta-Sonic gun and parts cleaning machine:

A case tumbler, an ice cream tub, bungees, plywood, and there you have it.

FWIW, which may be nothing at all.

Trick I picked up from an old gunsmith in West Texas. Take 2 plastic buckets that nest one inside other. Place "cheap" acquarium pump in bottom of first bucket. Put solvent and parts in second bucket and place on top of pump. Plug in pump and will agitate solution quite well. I think I paid less than $5 for both of my vibrating pumps. Has worked well for 35+ years

You're not a gun nut unless you go shoot a gun to get it dirty and so you have enough brass to tumble so you can use both atthe same time.

It's been working just fine. Doesn't tip over or really threaten to, which I was a little worried about. Take about 30 seconds to put on or take off the case tumbler. I'd been kind of thinking of a cheap ultrasonic cleaner too, but I think I'll stick with my sorta-sonic.

And you know, I probably could put rock salt in the tumbler and clean the pistol parts and make ice cream at the same time, good idea, I like how you think.....

Strap the tub to your dog's back, and take it for a walk. You and the dog get excersize, and your pistola get's cleaned. What's not to like???

    Cheers!
