Question about Body Armor Storage....
So I recently purchased some body armor and was wondering what is the correct way to store it? In the desert we either had it with us, or laid it out on the bunk above us. I'm figuring that there is probably a better way to store it, and I thought I would ask. Thanks.

Well you didnt state what type it is but for soft armor after taking it off store it inside out and either hung up or after it dried out, if sweaty, laid out flat. For armor with plates I stand mine up or we have large wooden crosses built to hang the armor on.
To avoid fungus and odor I use foot powder on the inside of the carrier and if really sweaty on removal lightly dust on the outside of the carrier on the side that goes against your body. I take the soft armor out every couple of months and wipe it down and inspect the plates and clean the carrier as best I can, dont want to tear up a washer, but with soft armor simply take out the armor and throw the carrier in the wash. I always let mine air dry instead of the dryer.

Sorry about that, I should have mentioned that it is soft armor. I was just wondering if there was any difference between laying it out and hanging it. Thanks again.

I hand mine on a heavy duty hanger. It lets the air circulate.
I've been doing it for more than a decade with no issues.
