Coz if I find another box stashed in someplace that I'm not expecting it, my hubbs is gonna think I've lost it (if he doesn't already)

I use .50 cal ammo cans. For my major calibers (.45, 9mm, 5.56, 12gauge, ect...) it is a dedicated and labeled can for each. I just leave the ammo in the boxes and put it in the can. For less used calibers, they can share a can, while still staying in their factory boxes.

When I open a case the individual boxes go into a .50 cal can, then I use up what is in that can, open a new case, rince, repeat. I have 3 cans on the floor of my closet next to my safe and then unopened cases get stacked next to those in the corner.
I got a few FREE 50 cal. cans when I ordered ammo via the internet. It was a promotion, so I grabbed a couple when I had the chance. They don't really cost that much if you just ordered them.

Zip lock bags in ammo cans. Bagged and labled in ammo cans by caliber. If it is factory ammo I use the factory lable with lot number. Takes up to much room if left in the box.
Good people do not need laws to tell them to act responsibly, while bad people will find a way around laws. Plato
exactly how I store mine....I just throw in one of those moisture wicking packs....I get tons of them were I work. Cheaper than Dirt had several pallets lstacked with cans outside thier store a while back for $5 a can, great condition...not all rusted out and such...I got a bunch.
Ditto on the 50 cal cans with a packet of dessicant. They seal up nice and have handles which makes them easy to handle. I keep separate cans for each caliber-40 in one can, 223 in several others on stripper clips in bandeleros.
I'd rather be lucky than good any day

Majority rule only works if you're also considering individual rights. Because you can't have five wolves and one sheep voting on what to have for supper.
Ammo cans. I paint the cans to designate different calibers. Blue, white, red, silver, black, and a few are a two-tone combination.

Tubby in my basement w/a dehumidifier on. Not a lot of room on the main floor, and the fiance is paranoid. Tubby protects against floor moisture, dehumidifier against air.

Some of it is stored in ammo cans, some of it is just left on the shelf in the utility room, all of that is reloaded stuff. All the factory ammo is pretty much in the half of the gun safe that isn't full of guns, or on shelves that have been reenforced so they don't sag. You an put many thousand rounds of all calibers in about half of a 42 cubic foot safe.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.
