    5.11 Push Pack

Mods if this is the wrong section I apologize, it is gear related (Sorta).

My wife and I are expecting our first child in September and my mind has already started going crazy. One of the things that came to mind was that I don't care to carry a girly diaper bag. So my mind went to the 5.11 Push pack.

Does anyone have one? Have you used it in this way? Would it work well?

Any ideas, I have not found a place to get my hands on one.

    Thanks
    Mark

I don't have an opinion on the 5.1.1 push pack, but I was a stay at home dad for four years and I used a navy blue diaper backpack. I think it was made by Eddie Bauer. It was not girly, but it was setup with child care in mind. It had a built in changing pad and bottle holders. It worked great for all the baby stuf that needed to be carried and at the time it cost less than wht the push packs now cost. When I no longer needed it, it was in great condition and I handed it down to another dad.

I have read that the Push Pack and the Max Jumbo both work well for diaper bags, manly style. Check out EDC forums under bags and related gear, lots of stories there!

Midway USA has both the Push Pak and the complete line of Max Expedition packs. For me the push pack was a bit to small and I went with the Max Jumbo but I was carrying magazines, medical supplies, water and Power Bars for a roll out scenario. For $20 more the Max fit my purpose better.

All great bags, but for the money check out LA Police Gear and their Bail Out Bag. It will more than meed your needs and will not break the bank. Very well made bags.

Stay at home dad here. I have used the push pack a few times since my son has gotten older. Only need a couple of diapers, wipes and a juice cup now. When he was an infant I don't think the push pack would have been nearly big enough. For everyday needs I use a Columbia diaper bag. Looks more like a messenger bag. I haven't owned a Maxpedition bag but they do appear to be available in much larger sizes than the Push Pack.

    Yep!

I have been eyeing this pack up for over a year, (for motorcycling), and the sale was what made me pull the trigger, so to speak.

My diaper bag for twins is a Maxpedition jumbo with a couple pouches added. I looked at a lot of bags includimg the 5.11 and ended up with the jumbo.
