secret console or hiding place

I'm wondering if any one knows of a after market console or headliner console some one makes to keep a gun in. I work for a public school cant carry at work but need something to secure weapon in my 04 chevy 2500 silverado. ive seen the console safe vaults . but my console folds down and if you mounted a safe in it there's only 2 screws holding back rest and safe. easy to take off and run if break in were to happen. looking for somthing more secure and hidden any ideas?

One of the ideas frequently suggested here is to use a Center of Mass compact car safe, Secure the safe to the car seat with the heavy cable supplied, and slide the tethered safe under the seat when you park.

I'll second the Center of Mass car safes, I have one in each of my vehicles and they work great. I have both keyed the same so one key fits them both.

I've got a Chevy Suburban and purchased the Center of Mass vault. With my seat configuration, I had to secure the cable under the 2nd row seats which make it a pain in the rear to access from the front. Doable, but a pain.

I just recently installed the Console Vault and absolutely love it. But in your situation, the Center of Mass should work fine.

I think both of these products are better than any others I've seen.

I have a 4 door Chevy Silverado. I bought this safe at Harbor Frieght for $20 and mounted it under my back seat. For now I use a gun cable lock through the mounting holes and to the seat subframe. Eventually I'm going to bolt it through the floor. It will hold up to 4 compact handguns.
