Do Any of You Guys Use Pelican Hard Cases?
I was thinking about the kind of case that would be a good choice for storing an AR15. I'm not really sure what I'm going to end up with but with the cost of a rifle easily approaching or exceeding a thousand dollars by the time you finish it out with optics, etc., it makes sense to perserve and protect it in a nice durable case. I've never had any but the Pelicans look like they are really nice cases and they appear to be the same ones that the military use, etc.
Do any of you guys use Pelican cases and if so, what do you have to say about them? From what I can tell, a case to house a rifle is going to be right around the $200 range. It seems like a lot of money for a case but if it protects a somewhat expensive rifle w/optics, it may be worth it in the long run. If you take care of it, it may even possibly outlast the rifle in which you could use it for the next - if that ever happens to be the case. I'm not too worried about this part because by the time I wear the rifle out, I suspect I'll be too old, sick and crippled to worry about replacing it. ;-)
WARNING: The following is me trying to RATIONALIZE;
I guess this isn't really any different than a guy buying a $180 guitar case for a $1,200 guitar...
