I saw this on another forum. Anyone seen or used one of these. Just wondering what your thoughts are regarding it? Thought it might be of use when walking our small dogs.

If your goal is to incapacitate your dogs, I think it will work just fine!

Seriously, I considered one, but I decided it is not very inconspicuous. I have been looking in the direction of a cattle prod, but I haven't found one yet that will work as a cane.

    $50 :vs: $15 for OCSpray?
    I'll go with the spray...and it's easier to carry.OMOYMV

I would think this would fall into the same category as a taser; and those are not legal for civilian use in many states, I think.

Pretty sure it would be illegal in my state (NC)

Looking at the ad, it's unclear to me as where are the probes? Presumably they are at the end, but that's usually where the end rubber cups is? I like the idea of a cane as a defense weapon, but I'm not convinced to the reliability or effectiveness of this product. Cattle "hot-shots" are made for rough duty and they are very capable of failing when needed, this cane looks pretty delicate, how well will it work in rainy/snowy weather?

If I were to need/carry a cane I just want it to be made out of a good piece of solid oak.

I looked at these, and there are no probes on the end. The contacts are the metal bands that run horizontally around the lower portion of the cane.
