About LinkBacksWill the Surefire X series lights fit on an XD? Or do I need to get a smaller/compact light? I've been browsing the net looking for a light and started to wonder if I should be looking at a specific size light or if any will do.

Will the Surefire X series lights fit on an XD? Or do I need to get a smaller/compact light? I've been browsing the net looking for a light and started to wonder if I should be looking at a specific size light or if any will do.
I believe they will. My Surefire 300x came with several options for mounting different systems.
All X300 LED's by Sure-Fire work with universal standard accessory rails, the SureFire Rail Adapter, as well as Mil-Spec Picatinny Rail.

Is your XD a fullsize or compact or subcompact ??
Insight Tech has a nicer option for the compact and subcompact type rails. There is only so much room on a compact or subcompact rail for a light to catch the rail indentation and lock up solid. Assuming this is your case ?

I actually prefer the switch layout on the Insight. I have both.

All my hand-held lights are Surefire,but,my weapons mounted lights are Streamlight,with the exception of one M951 that was issued to me and I was able to keep it,Streamlighta tlr-1,tlr1s and tlr2 can be had for around $100-150,depending on your geography.My streamlights are not for giggles,they all have seen "work".

It's this one. That's the fullsize right? Cause the 5.25 is the competition model.Is your XD a fullsize or compact or subcompact ??
I've also looked into these as well. How well do you like them? How would you compare them to Surefire? The only lights that I have actually held/tested are the surefire lights. I'm not real sure why, but whenever I hear/think of a weapons light, I automatically think Surefire. But I am definitely open to suggestions. I just want to make sure I spend my money on a good product that will last. As does everyone else. Thanks for the help.but,my weapons mounted lights are Streamlight
