Yup. They've been around a long time.

Such an inefficient design as far as capacity vs size.
Been calling it like I see it since 1988 and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon.
Ive seen them for shot guns but never a pistol.I think its more of a novelty item myself. I just found it to be odd and wondered if anyone else knew of them.
Personally, except for the most casual plinking it is useless as it totally changes the feel of your pistol as it recoils, not to mention the additional weight. I put it in the same category as the 30-round Glock magazines - a gimmick.

Only way your gonna get by concealing that is in a manbra with a second spare mag

its for a .22 correct?
I don't get how they only fit 50 in though. the size look like they would hold a few hundred.
is it for 5.56? and i agree that it appears huge for 50 rounds. I'll take two 30 round pmags instead, have 10 extra rounds, better reliability, and more cash in the wallet in the end.
<edit>
on second look.. maybe that is a .22 drum. That seems even more impractical from a size perspective.

Nope, I didn't know these existed. But, I still don't think I'd buy one.
