    Leather Help, Please

    How do I reduce the thickness of a piece of leather? Need to reduce a piece I want to add as a sweat shield by at least 1/16". Thanks in advance for any tips.

    A head knife if about the best way to skive that I have ever used. Takes some practice. Or a saddle shop may have a splitter that they will let you use, or split it for you.

    two way of doing it, one is a skiving knife and two is sand it dry. I use a grinder and flex it so the back side is against the stone and go easy or a belt sander
