    If the potential trouble is so far away that I need a monocular to see it, I can probably just get away. So, for EDC, I think not. At night, you are better off with a good light - to distinguish a weapon from a wallet or a cell phone.
    Agreed for reasons stated. EDC -- no.

    There have been a couple of times in the past when I would have liked having a telescopic optic in order to catch a license plate # but, that would be a quite rare occasion.

    They have. The Zeiss monocular in the middle of this picture is the one I EDC.

    im seldom without a camera and 6x is about minimum telephoto on the ones im most likely have with me.

    but it is a neat ideaif only to get even with ants and start a fire.

    My wife said something to me once that made me reevaluate what I carried around on an every day basis.

    She told me if I added one more thing to my belt, I be an official Mall Ninja.

    I carry less stuff on my ultra cool tactical belt that my lady friends carries in her purse!
