As long as the lock cannot be opened by anyone other than you, any lock is acceptable.
I just got my nano 300 in the mail today. I love it, and it securely attaches in my truck. I got it for the purpose of locking my gun up while at work. To give you an idea of size/space, it holds a full size S&W M&P .40 cal and 2 15rnd mags. Its size overall is nice and compact and fits under neath my truck bench seat. Its about 1¾" in height. On The box it says TSA Approved. I love it already. And the combination lock is awesome and easy to set code.
Hope it helps!
