nutnfancy did a three part 2 hour video on bug out bags a couple years ago. He's a little over the top and redundant on a lot of things, but I consider the aforementioned video to be the best he's ever done. Check it out.
Is nutnfancy a member I dc or is that a YouTube channel?

If I told you, I'd have to shoot you. I trust nobody. I never shoot to wound.
You can find his videos on youtube. There has been some good BOB post on here in the past.

Stupidity should be painful.
Enought water and ammo to move two days. Use a three day assault pack or five day assault pack. Repack every two months for seasonal changes and keep your equipment cleaned and working. I pack two rifles and a hand gun. Three flares 10 liters of water, and a shelter and shovel. Fine tune it for your environment. Keep in mind bullets are almost as good as money in an emergency. Keep it mobile but dont leave anything you need.

This is my present Bug Out Bag configuration.
Sorry, I haven't posted any photos yet, but the contents and bag is listed in detail. It is my all around "major emergency"/"get out of town" bag.
I have several different modular set ups and my EDC (everyday carry) carry bag is much smaller, but every bit as effective. I leave it in the car on a daily basis instead of carrying it around like a man purse.

Snipers hide has a good List for a kit. It is pretty comprehensive, but for Z land you may retune it.

Where are you planning on going to? How long do you expect the trip to take?
The only place I am headed is home, so I have a get home bag. It works well, and the bag goes in the field a bunch.
