I can't give a very useful answer really!!! I do keep spares but not always everywhere.
I carry 123 batt's in truck glove compartment - so at least I have something for my Surefire when away from home.
My 2032's for red dots and CT's etc - they are always tucked away either in ammo box or range bag for range days but - as for elsewhere I would not have spares.
I do tho check batt's on dig voltmeter at intervals which gives me a clue as to their state of depletion. Further to that - my Surefire has the LED head and so can function well enough for me even when batt' has gone down significantly - no drastic sudden cessation. I have taken a 123 out in past when near 2.7V and light is still useable even if lacking full intensity.

For anything that is relatively flat like my BSA laser scope batteries (probably similar to the Red Dot's batteries?), I use a pocket pill case. The round ones seem to work better for me than the square ones. So far I haven't ingested a battery when I was going for a pill, and yes, sometimes I do combine the two in the pill case.

The reason I ask is, I picked up a few of these http://www.section8tactical.com/TacPac.htm and I'm looking for feedback from CC.com members.
How many of you think something like that is worth $25 ?

Well, on duty the spares are in a Surefire spares carrier with extra M3 lamp assembly in my duty bag, 6 more 123 spares in the Vltor stock of my M4, and spare Eo-Tech batteries in the M4 Ergo-grip.

For the red dot , my scope mount has a spares compartment. For the 123's I use a surefire spares carrier.

For My SureFire...
I have the SureFire battery carrier...holds 4 batteries and an extra light bulb, with NO rattles!

Gee, and to think I've just been using a vest pocket for 2 123s for my Surefire, and the tube on the sheath of my Pelican M3 Xenon for another three.
If I need more than one change of batteries for either light in the field, something is really wrong.

Here is a link to a battery case that I use. They have this case for the cr123, as well as AA, and AAA, sizes.

Like Mark, I carry a SureFire and use their spare battery/bulb carrier.
It's small enough to throw in your gear bag or glove box.
