Handcuff the pistol to the seat frame!

Not the most secure option available, but no bolting a safe in and it protects from the "smash and grab" thugs.
    If nothing else, Good Idea!

Handcuff through the trigger guard? That reminds me, are you clearing the weapon every time you lock it to the car?

    Definately clearing first.

If I'm in my wife's car I also remove the slide and lock it in the glove box.

Only have to leave it in the car twice a week for church.

Can't carry in "a place of worship" in Arkansas.

Where is that separation of church and state when you need it???

I've joined the bandwagon trying to change the law to let each church decide for itself.

I like the idea of a combo, no key to worry about, fumble around. Good thread, learned a lot.

As long as you don't need to access it in the dark. The keyed version is probably easier in that respect.

Spirit, I know what you are saying about cost and for several years I used a set of handcuffs hooked to the seat frame, wife had a key to. I use a Pelican case now that my son bought my for fathers day and have used it on airlines with no problems and it holds 2 guns and extra mags

    Handcuffs behind trigger

I use one of these Armlocs for both bedside use and secure transport. Comes with a QD bedframe mounting bracket. When I go to the range and might need to stop somewhere, I use steel cable or chain to lock it to my car seat frame (and cover it). Franzen Armloc II Pistol Case

Can hold two full size Sigs or Glocks. Has both a combo lock and a keylock. A red nightlight is built in to it. I think it's worth the $90.

I highly recommend this one. It's a bit big, but you can BOLT anywhere you want and it actually fits my 1911, GLock 19 and LCP so you shouldn't have a problem with your pistol and mags. I actually want to bolt one to the floor of my truck under the back seat.
