Just bought and removed the granular Talon's from my M&Pc. They felt fantastic in my hand but after 10 minutes of rubbing against bare skin and my t-shirt hanging on the grip while drawing... I came to the conclusion that I should have bought the rubberized Talons. Great for a range pistol, not so much for carry (granular) YMMV
I hope they workout for you Thunder.

I did some research and got the rubber ones, hope they work out!

See your smarter than me :)
I actually trimmed the Talons on the skin side and that cured the irritation (CBST combat cut). Then I trimmed the tape off of the removable palm swell trying to keep the bottom of my shirt from hanging on the granulated surface. I got it pretty close, but I would still get hung up a few times practicing the draw. No big deal... live & learn. I do have this nice Talon Grips sticker!
ETA: I see the price has went up this week from $10.99 to $14.99![]()

Take your time ordering one. All the Shields will have to go back to Smith:

Can't imagine I'd be demonstrating in that fashion with it loaded...
Good eye.
Hope to see the grips soon, will post pictures when they arrive and are installed for anyone curious.

I ordered my Talon grips the same time as you. If you haven't heard, the owner of Talon died unexpectedly. The family just started mailing orders out again.
Yep, very sad... I ended up cancelling my order to help relieve the backlog, will order again once they get caught up.

I too was about to order but heard about the passing. : (
As far as rubberized vs granular, has anyone had problems with the rubber causing tshirts to cling to the gun? How does the rubber feel against bare skin? My biggest concerns are the rubber clinging to places I would rather not have problems, i.e the shirt and on my bare skin on my side while wearing it holstered.
(Sidebar: So that is a problem with the shield? I just tried it and mine does it too...Thunder71, you said all your handguns do it, so I shouldn't worry about it on my Shield?)
Actually it is just the opposite at least in my case. When I ordered my grips I ordered a set of each. I tried the granulate first. It would snag on my t-shirt when I would draw my Shield and didn't like it. I switched to the rubber grip and have no snagging with t-shirt when drawing. People have said the tackiness of the granulate grip wears off after a few weeks. I wasn't willing to wait that long so I switched grips. The granulate does give a better grip though if you can work past the snagging.
I wear undershirts all the time so I have no opinion on how it feels against the skin. I would say the rubber wouldn't be a problem. The granulate would cause some irritation I am guessing.

Thank you for that response! And yeah, I figured the granular grip would be irritating against a bare side, I was more wondering about the rubberized version. Do your rubber ones provide a good level of grip over the factory grip?
