Backdated an old friend
Hey folks, I bought a Model 10 from Bud's a few months ago for $270. Trade in from police department. Has some holster wear but doesn't appear to have all that many rounds through it.
My main reason for buying this particular gun is that my dad carried one as a NYC cop for 21 years. I just love the looks of the old beasts and had to have one. Problem is the grips were cheap ad-ons and were dinged up pretty bad. So I went to S&W site and could not believe it, but there was for sale a brand new set of factory grips for about $32. Just installed them a minute ago and I'm so pleased with how they look. Here is a pic of the new grips. I can't tell you how pleased I am with this little change. The second pic has the old grips for comparison. BTW the S&W grips are gorgeous in craftsmanship.

Great way to dress up a classic.

Thanks for the comments guys. I was going to get it re-blued but it's pretty expensive and I'm not sure I want it to look that new.
