Post A Really Cheap B.O.B. Item That Might Prove Right Handy In Extreme Cold Temps

Heck I bought a few of them a while back from this Ebay seller. I am in no way affiliated with this seller nor do I know him personally.
Hard to beat for 2 bucks and 3 bucks shipping.
He shipped pretty doggone fast also.

I can see one coming in real handy if bugging out into the wild and wooly world during those extremely cold sub-zero biting freezing high wind days.

For the low cost it's an item that you might want to consider if you live live a real cold weather location.

Just thought I'd mention it in case anybody wants to bite on one.

Not a bad idea, I have a mask that I wear in my bass boat to protect my face against wind and rain, but it's not really going to help much for extended periods in the cold. Price isn't bad either.

Pretty scary looking huh? Didn't Hannibal Lector wear one of those?

Actually it looks pretty effective against the cold

It would also come in handy if you're planning to kill a lot of teenagers at the lake house.

No wonder there are reported sightings of Sasquatch.

    Wink

Nice! Handy to have in those hard northern climates.

I think I'll also get one to chase Grand Kids around with.

Probably a super high quality MilSup item to snag.

Not a bad price--but, having had a few experiences with extreme cold (coldest was in the field at -70 [no wind chill, just straight -70), went running a couple of times at -65 when stationed in Fairbanks for 5 years; some experience with -20 temps at high altitude, etc, etc, I honestly think that you'd be better off with two Balaclava's--a very lightweight polypropelene or fleece next tot he skin and a heavier one of wool or fleece as an outer layer. This set-up gives you flexibility to adjust to varying temps and levels of activity, and still provides adequate head protection. If you are out in that kind of cold, you will very likely have an outer coat that also has a hood on it

Nice, I have two Balaclavas that I wear under the helmet when I ride the Goldwing in the winter. The one you are showing, like mine, will knock the wind off your face and neck. You would be much more comfortable. I also paid a whole lot more than $5 for mine.

Pretty sure I've got one or two of those sitting in an old A4 somewhere in the stuff we haven't unpacked since forever, along with an extra set of ECW mukluks and mits. Ugly as sin, but warm. They got replaced as extreme cold weather issue by the polypro facemasks about 20? years ago.

Yep. These were/are surplus and no longer used but, they do work and are only $2.00 - you can't beat that price with a stick.
