I now have 3 AR(type weapons). All of them are Bushmaster. The Carbon15 Type 21 wears a TRU-GLO red dot. The 24" bbl has a Leupold 6.5 X 20 x50 with a German#4 duplex,for long range yotes. And the 16'bbl has a 4.5 X 14 X50,with thick crosshair(Leupold also).
For normal "work" take a close look at the Leupold 2 X 7 X 33,Shotgun/Blackpowder scope. I have two of these on other weapons and they are great medium range glass. Fairly small and light, with 33mm objective for fairly good light transmission, thick duplex for fast target acquission, paralex free at 75yds which is a "happy medium". Have one on a .458 Win Mag so I know they will survive anything.
Just looking at your post .......hope you ment for the scope to be mounted on a pic rail. No scope should EVER be mounted on a carry handle IMO.
Also never heard of a 3.5 X 9 X 50. Scopes usually come in 3.5x10 or 3x9. ---------
What distance and what type of targets?

Battle Plan (n) - a list of things that aren't going to happen if you are attacked.
Blame it on Sixto - now that is a viable plan.
Best all around scope? ACOG.
Best scope for hunting/target shooting? What kind of hunting/target shooting?
EOTECH and ACOG are probable the BEST all around, but that depends on what you want to use your AR15 for?????
I usually like 3-9x40 scopes on rifles. Name a price range and I'll give you my opinions.
Sorry RSSZ it is a 3x10x50mm
Eventyally I am going to buy a varmant upper but for now I am going to use the stock barrel. It is a Bushmaster A3 M4 .223. With a 16in barrel. If that helps.
I'd go with the ever popular Eotech or Aimpoint. Unless you want to fork out ~1k for an ACOG.

I use a Nikon 3x9x40mm on my flattop.
