Most of the time I drive a crew cab GMC, love the truck, but I have no place to store my weapon if I need to disarm. Does anyone know of a lockable box I could mount to the floorboard, or better yet, mold the bottom to the driveshaft hump?

I have one, it is very versatile and I use in the car, use it as my travel safe and is a perfect TSA compliant lockable case for air travel. You cannot beat the price. I like the fact that when the cable is attached to the seat rail, there is enough slack to pull the safe onto my lap to remove my firearm.

You say portable, but something that mounts. Have to assume that 'portable' means 'moves with the vehicle'.
The console vault mentioned above sounds like a solid system, but the small box is also an option - I like the GunVault MicroVault for the combination options. You could bolt just about any small box to the floor if desired.

Might want to mold it to the top of the hump. It's tough crawling under the vehicle to access the bottom of the hump. ;-) Plus the driveshaft is in the way.
Check out Nano Vaults also they offer a lot of options I use this in my Cars and Motorcycle They have a cable that you secure then it has an end that locks in the safe you can leave the cable and remove the safe it you want with no tools

Here's what I use. I've got one mounting plate screwed down just under the edge of my bed, and one behind the seat in my F150.
It came with big self tapping screws, so you shouldn't need to crawl under your truck.
The safe snaps on/off of the mounting plate while its unlocked so you can carry it around.
It is built like a tank. I'm pretty sure it would take a cutting torch to get it open.
The only bummer is that right after I bought it I cleaned my gun while it was inside and the solvent ate a huge hole in the foam.:confused:

I have a 08 Cadi Cts and have the below linked safe mounted in my trunk. It allows me to be very stealth and easy to get to when I need it. I recent had my car broken into with my XD40 in the trunk safe, they didn't even see it. I have mine mounted to the top of my trunk and the safe door flops down when
opened, with the sliding tray. Very cool setup.

Actually, the combination lock is why I picked the CarryVault over the other safes. No batteries, and it's got what looks to be a 1/2" thick stainless steel bolt that keep the lid closed.Quote:
