Securing Firearms Away From Home
In the days when legally carrying firearms for personal protection was rare, securing firearms from unauthorized access was relatively simple. All we had to do was lock them up at home. With the changes in weapons carry laws, the situation now is quite different since our guns frequently leave the house with us.
Even though we can carry our guns in many places, there are still a multitude of locations we are not allowed to legally carry. Courthouses, government buildings, restaurants that serve liquor, and various other buildings may be unauthorized places, depending on local, state, and Federal laws. TSA regulations do not allow us to keep our firearms and weapons under our direct control when we use air travel. Even if you donít carry when traveling, you may choose to keep a pistol in your hotel room or guest accommodations, but you probably will not be in the room at all times.
