I've taken three friends to the range this year for their first time. They were squealy, nervous and couldn't hit the target, but they had fun and at least two are now considering getting their CCP and buying a pistol.

Nor am I myself any kind of competitive shooter. But I still like to go to the range even if I miss sometimes.
I didn't mean to offend....I think the important distinction between what I wrote and what you read was they seem like they are there under duress. Its one thing to be squealing from excitement compared to a woman acting like she is afraid to touch the firearm, and batting her eyelashes at the guy who brought her there, and making a spectacle of herself. I would be thrilled to see other women enjoying themselves at the range & I have offered to bring several friends to the range to teach them to shoot. The more confident, competent female shooters at the range, the better.

I have to agree. What a great thread! And my psycho-analytical assessment tells me you knew I wouldn't look away.

I figured I'd see some pink radioactive bullets. The kind that make the BG glow pink when perforated. Cause I know you ladies love to set the mood.

No, you didn't offend me. What I was thinking, is that it sounds VERY much like how I used to see female motorcycle riders. There are tons who got talked into it by boyfriends or husbands, and were there under duress. As a competitive motorcyclist who had bikes before she had boyfriends or a husband, it was easy to be dismissive of the squealing, giggling and overall helplessness. I thought the same thing. "Shut up and ride, or go home." Quit being cute in your pink gear sitting on the tailgate.

but I started thinking about it more. even if they were talked into it, they still agreed to give it a try. Some might never get into it but at least they were able to see what it was really about first. Some might get into it and they never would have without that pushy boyfriend/husband.

None of us start off confident & competent. Despite 25 years of shooting my own competence is probably easily disputed :D

IF THEY ACTUALLY MAKE THESE I WANT THEM ALL

Went I went to the range last month, the guy behind the counter complimented my Vera Bradley range bag. Yes, he knew the brand. Yes, I was impressed.

I like these responses. Y'all are alright in my book.

Haven't seen OP on the forums in some months, but she did post the link under the pics... here it is again: Range Bags

Here's another that may be of interest: GunGoddess.com - Gun cases and bags for women

    Hope that helps.

What is that thing right in the middle? I mean, other than a "gun."

The "thing" in the middle is a Browning Buck Mark Silhouette 22 semi-auto.

This is my modest collection. The 357 revolver was one my Uncle passed down to his son, when he died.He got on drugs,my Aunt gave it to me.It shoots good, but, wasn't taken care of,smh.I had to go with the layaway program on a couple of them, but, you gotta do what you gotta do.
