I have worn several vests over the years but I recently purchased a couple o the Israeli Bodyguard ( Shabak ) Jackets. They are heavy enough that they don't flap around but light enough for summer carry. I believe there is a thread on this.

A lot of outdoors types here in the Rockies wear fleece or down vests. I bought one from LL Bean and have worn it for years, even before I started concealing. For commuting to work, the vest is all I actually wear all through the winter---light cover, enough to get from the car to the office building or store. If I were to get stranded and need to be out in the weather for an extended period, I would pull the fleece and Gore-tex gear out of the trunk.

Matt! Thank you! We should form a sandals and white socks thread just to keep track of really cool garmentry! I knew I wasn't the only one who just waited for a chance to make a "sandals and white socks" jab, er , comment...

I generally do not use a vest for everyday carry....I do when I go on my street photography ventures, warrant executions, or to the range.

I have several excellent Scott e-Vests.

Columbia makes a fleece zip up vest that is nice. They offer it in Tall sizes that make it longer, this is good to help conceal belt worn holsters.

I wear a vest allthe time. Sometimes its my fishing vest, sometimes my Eddie Bauer Photo vest, most of the time its my Red THread Tactical. I started wearing vest long before I started carrying. My mother said I could never have to many pockets. I think I got my firsat vest at about 12 yrs old.

    Sometimes...

I may choose to wear a vest, a 5.11 Tatical...but not often...in Florida, it has to be a little cooler Nov-Mar...not to look a little obvious!
It does cover well and is very comfortable...
