Amazon is about the best online retailer for resolving issues. Clearly if the article delivered is not as described you have merit for resolution.

While I haven't bought it myself, I remember a while back on a different forum people linking to ITS Tactical, saying they sell mil-spec 7 strand Paracord.

I saw some large spools of mil spec and regular parachute cord at Cabelas in Portland, Maine last weekend. Might want to check their site. the Mil spec was significantly higher. It was higher quality, though.

Out of curiosity-Why does it have to be mil-spec?

Wilson Combat has a "partner" dealing with para cord. I'd check it out. wilsoncombat.com

if i am going to bother wearing a 15 feet of it on a bracelet and lacing my boots with it i want it to actually hold 550 lbs should i ever need to use it in a survival situation.

that link i posted before seems decent. i figure if they are selling it for parachuting it has to be the real deal.

Hate to rez an oldish thread but I spoke with gladding (a major American company producing 550 paracord) today about a bulk order. Wondering if people here were interested in a group order. Need to order at least 48 spools. Lots of colors and a far better price than amazon. Let me know if you're interested.

What's the price per spool? I would probably be in for black and flat dark earth type tan.

I never did get any by the way. I think I was away the next three weeks after I posted this and the thread got lost. 100' of black would do me for all my boots, bracelets, drawstrings on sweatshirts etc. I bought 100' of commercial stuff off amazon to do all the above and I still have maybe 20" left.
