Help . . . dont know which one to pick!

I am in the market to buy a fashlight. I have narrowed my pick down to 2 flash lights
    A. SureFire E1E Executive Elite
    B. SureFire G2 Nitrolon

I don't know which one to pick. I would like a long lasting, small, bright light and these two seem to catch my eye. Can you guys help me a little bit because I know nothing about a good flashlight. Thank you

Another happy G2 customer here. I did get the optional P61 high output head for it. Short battery life but double the output. Just what I wanted for it's intended purpose for me.

    My Surefire...

is the E2e and it works for me...65 lumens (very effective at night)...I don't need to blind an infantry at 200 yards...just someone 'in my face'.

    Stay bright...stay alive!

I am a police officer and I carry a G2 on my belt in a Blackhawk pouch and an E2e in a cargo pocket. Both are awesome lights. I like the "throw" of the G2 better. The E2e seems to "flood" more than the G2. HOWEVER...the E2e gets to ride EVERY DAY thanks to the neat little pocket clip. The G2 is jealous on my days off...he has to stay on the belt.

    I carry a G2 , but am looking at a E1E for a alternative light to carry.

I would actually steer you towards a Z2 instead if going Surefire and in that lumen line up. I have the G2 and several others like the A2 and Streamlight Scorpion etc. And the Z2 is the better choice. I took a low light class and my instructor had a Z2 and it was the better of the one's posted or any that I had with me comparable.

I'd agree with Ti that the Z2 is one fine light, I just didn't have the budget for one.

If money was not an object I'm currently lusting after a Blackhawk w/strobe. But then again the price of one may mean I'll be dreaming for a while yet......

Define "long lasting". :)........What exactly do you intend to use the light for? There is quite a price difference between the two........What other lights had you considered and why did you discount them? Is this light going to see some general lighting usage? or just occasional/SD only usage?

You have two completely different lights listed. The E1e is going to be pretty dimm for blinding someone at its listed 25 lumens. But its more EDCable with its smaller size. But, the G2 is alot brighter but not quite as EDCable.

Personally I would go with an LED light. They run longer, bulbs don't blow, and are just as bright (some brighter) than their incan brothers.

You don't have the "throw" from an LED like you do with a Xenon bulb. LEDs are GREAT for lighting up a room (bedroom, bath, closet etc) but if you want to see something 20 - 30 yards away...go with the Xenon. LED just kinda "floods" out.

I believe my E2e is about 60 or 65 lumens...works pretty well...and will blind you at night...

That really depends on the LED flashlight that you are using. I have several LED lights that will throw better than my stock Surefire G2. LED flashlight have come along way and getting that has the throw to see out to 20-30 yards and beyond is very obtainable with LED flashlights. In fact my Streamlight Propolymer 4AA luxeon will light up people at even 50+ yards. I have only one out of several LED flashlights that would be considered "flood" The others have similar beam profiles to the G2 which is a well defined hotspot with medium corona and wide sidespill. Heck, even my L1T will light up a person at 20yards and it runs on a single AA. See if you can do that will a Xenon Bulb on a single AA.
