Hearing Protection?
I have significant hearing loss and want to hold on the what is left. I currently use foam plugs coupled with muffs. I have to take the muffs of to rifle shoot to get a good weld.
What is the best method of hearing protection at the range?
Is there a certain product that is better than the others?
Thank you!

Hearing Protection?
I just use cheap Winchester plugs held together with a string, I can't stand shooting at a range without them, don't like my ears ringing. In a SD situation that's a different story.

Have you tried any of the low profile muffs for rifle shooting?
They usually make getting a good cheek weld on the rifle easier.

I've got a couple of pairs of the electronic ones, that amplify ambient sound, so you can hear range commands, and people talking around you, but shut down the sound of gun fire. Really like them, and especially when I'm trying to teach something on the range. If you want the brand name, let me know and I'll get it to you.

The Surefire earplugs are nice - those plus some low profile electronic muffs are about as good as you can get.

I still use the triple flange ones I had in the army. Much better then just ear muffs
