    Magazines...anywhere?

I went out to pick up a spare magazine today and the shelf was bare. So I went online and also nothing. The only thing I found was some idiots who appearently bought a bunch of magazines after the CT shooting and is selling them for $100 each! Number one, that is just asinine. And another note is that it doesn't help us responsible gun owners look good when everyone is 'fighting' for magazines and ammuntion. I think it makes us look like over-zealous gun nuts. Anyway, I just wanted to whine some.

What are you looking for AR mags? You might have to hit the gun show if you have one coming up in your area. I too have had some trouble finding mags, even Ruger 10/22 mags. Im headed to the gun show tomorrow though.

Keep your eye on the slick guns forum here on DC. There has been magazines in stock, from time to time.

They aren't a bad deal, either. Usually between $20 and $40.

Pretty good shape here on my mags. Only thing I've been looking for are a couple of Ruger BX25 mags for my 10/22. Hard to find these days at a decent price.

I am looking for 15 round 9mm magazines for my Sig Sauer SP2022. I only need one or two more. The only thing I have seen is 10 round magazines on ebay for over $100. This is retarded! I may sell this gun and get something else like a Glock 19 so I will at least have 2 magazines. I actually saw 2 refurbished magazines for $250!!!! This is scalping and I wish I could turn these people in.

There's another thread running (believe it or not) in a different sub forum. The guy was begging for magazines for an SP2022 in 9mm. The final word was - ask some guy for a PM because maybe his son has some, or order them from SigUSA - they're backordered online but when you place your order over the phone they get to you after about a week delay. I think they said they were $46 on the sigarms website. Lots better than ebay or gunbroker prices. Speaking of which - why are you looking on ebay? I don't think they allow selling of gun parts anymore. Look on gunbroker.

    Good luck.

Why do people always have to go to the extreme? I want the ability to acquire goods for a fair price. If you want to sell stuff to make money, buy a liscense and be fair to other armed citizens who only want a fair and free america. Those who bought out the shelves with the intent to increase prices 200%, are not posing a good image on the gun community.

Wait til the panic is over. Prices will come down, and those same people will be begging you to take their product.

BTW - I didn't know there was that much whine in T-town.

There is no such thing as price gouging. The people who are selling refurb mags for $250 (if they are selling any) are simply following the law. The law of supply and demand.

I'm not convinced that everyone "bought out the shelves" planning on increasing prices 200%. I think it's likely that there were few magazines in inventory, and people stocked up and that was it. People that have "extra" or "spares" are only willing to sell them at a certain profit margin because they want to keep them. I am not selling any of my magazines - if I had any.....

No one is responsible for making sure you have enough magazines for your gun except for you - placing the blame elsewhere just makes it easier to accept. If you owned the gun and didn't have extra magazines, now with the fear of a ban and prices rising you decide that maybe you do need more magazines - but only at MSRP....you may have to wait. Maybe you'll get them, maybe you won't. If you want them bad enough, you'll pay 200%. If you're sad about the 200% price increase....too bad.

This is just the way it works. The same thing happened in 08/09 - everyone got scared, bought everything they could, which decreased supply which led to price increases. Then everything calmed down and prices went back to normal. The difference is that this time the media is running wild with it and spurring everything on, so the chances of a ban actually passing appear greater. This makes the higher prices at the moment understandable - and it might make it worth losing $XX to ensure you have what you want.

Look on gunbroker, you'll see lots of items for sale with 0 bids. Be willing to lose money, or be patient - or just order them from sig....
