    Need a good tactical vest

    I am searching for a good tactical vest like:

    Amazon.com: UTG Law Enforcement SWAT Vest: Sports & Outdoors

    Amazon.com: UTG Tactical Scenario Vest: Sports & Outdoors

    I have done a little research and it seems they are built for larger people. I am rather short at 5' 5" and although some say they are adjustable, other reviewers say they are uncomfortable and/or don't fit shorter folk.

    Any suggestions?

    Not sure what you want to spend?... I used to sell Eagle tactical vests back in the day @ gun shows. Great stuff and tons of ways to customize it too. Pricey but well built. Blackhawk is another brand that comes to mind. Eagle Industries - Product Details The two you linked look okay. Remember though mesh is a lot cooler than the solid nylon obviously but durability is somewhat less. Hope this helps.

    UTG = airsoft

    They look great in movies, but a chest rig is more practical. Lots of good companies out there.

    HSGI

    any many others. UTG doesn't make the cut. What is intended use?

    This isn't meant to hijack the thread but I was wondering about something that is along the same lines, specifically; can anyone recommend a simple chest rig (not a 'vest' per say) that could be used as a shooting rig and then also as a load bearing hiking rig (water, gear, exc.)?

    I would not purchase either of those by UTG.

    5.11 makes several vests that do lots of things.
