It's a weapon light? Well, I paid $125 for my Streamlight. I put it on my USP full size 45. You get what you pay for. Is the value of your life...ummmm.....Cheaper than Dirt? I can't imagine having a gun worth several hundred bucks and then hanging an el cheap-o light on it! Save for the good stuff. You'll be glad you did.

Check out the Streamlight TLR-1. It is a very nice light for about $90.

I'm not fond of anything attached to a weapon. To me it throws off the balance of the gun and hard to find a holster that fits. I would also prefer not to be printed by a beam of light.
I learned to shot with the FBI hold, flashlight away from the gun and away from the body. Old habits are hard to break.

Best inexpensive Non- Mounted light I bought was at (Home Depot/ or Lowes) believe it or not.

Small ( maybe 4") , brighter than my full sized mag light , Imprinted

rubber grips, Tail switch, with a belt case.

Made by DORSEY ........... 19 bucks and some change

I have had it and used it for about 1/12 years and still going strong.

Pick one up, you can't go wrong.

No offense to the FBI, but that is a habit worth breaking....holding the light to your side still lights you up and you lose the advantage of the light going straight into your advesary's eyes...not to mention it is much harder to shoot accurately holdng one arm out, and of course, it is a slower response...if you don't like a light on your weapon, at least try it with the gun hand crossed over your light hand...

You may want to look at this light. This is what I have and it's VERY impressive. I think it's even made by SureFire since it uses the same light assemblies, but it's only 30 dollars. Well worth it.

I've watched guys shoot the way you described. My wife shoots with the light cigar style. No excuses but I had a stroke five years ago and the left hand isn't much good any more. Have a hard time grasping the light and forming the grip with the pistol at the same time.
Guess if the time comes, I'll let her shine the light and her pistol and I'll look for the light switch. <grin>
