Do any of you EDC a weapon mounted light on your carry pistol?

    Happy Friday to you,
I ordered a Remora yesterday for my S&W M&P 40c with S&W Micro 90 weapon light attached to it. Just curious how many of you do or have ever carried with a light mounted on your pistol? If so what kind of gun/light/holster?
Here is my M&P 40c with CT grip and the Micro90 attached.

I have a nice Streamlight that I would carry on mine if I could find a decent holster to fit it! A lot of my travel is after dark so it would come in handy. My EDC is a Springfield XDm with a 4.5" barrel.

No, I just carry a small terralux flashlight in my pocket.

I need a flashlight a lot and don't want to pull my gun every time I need my light.

I carry a Steamlight Microstream flashlight clipped in my pocket rather than a weapon mounted light.

I just got a Streamlight TLR-1s and I love it!... Unfortunately finding a holster isn't that easy. Hey, guitarzNgunz, you still have that code?

No, but I know a guy who does in the winter season when it is dark much longer. He carries a full size M&P40 with a TLR-3 mounted on it (which comes basically flush with the muzzle) OWB in a custom kydex that fits perfectly. It's is not his only carry gun/rig and he only does this in the winter. next time I see him I'll ask about the manufacturer of the holster, I can assume it wasn't cheap.

Most LEO agencies do not carry guns with rail mounted lights. There are some sound tactical reasons for this. Also throws off the balance of your gun. First thing I learned in Nam was "light control" you do not going looking for a hidden enemy with a lit cigarette so that he can see you coming. There are ways to use a light tactically but with only about 1% of gun owners taking any professional training courses I am guessing that the figure is much lower for the percentage receiving proper training for low light situations. However I know a lot of people who equate reading about it on the internet with real training. Hopefully they will have their iPad with them when they need to refresh their memories under the stress of a life and death. :)

All of the above is very true. The 'getting shot in the face' aspect is why the FBI teach using a handheld flashlight extended at arms length at random odd angles.

I hope its kosher to post that, I learned that from a former agent whose class I took, if not then mods please remove.

    no, i don't.

i carry at least one small flashlight. always a Surefire or two, and sometimes a Leupold.

it's not quite as fast or as handy as a weapon-mounted light if TSHTF, but i find it more flexible in daily use.

i do own an older Surefire with rail mounting capability, but i virtually never use it. just my preference at this time.

Thanks MJB_17 but I ordered a Raven holster last night...I'm not big on waiting and I've received my tactical training by playing Call of Duty ...so I'm pretty confident in my skills

I don't carry one on my firearm but I almost always have one on me.

I never could do it because it seems like a handy target for the bad guy.
