Replacement of Tritium Inserts....

....for Heinie Straight Eight night sights.

Anyone ever do this? I would imagine that Heinie does it...but what do I know...I'm an underpaid gov't employee.

Comments if you the inserts replaced. How much and how long did it take?

I think he's talking about the movie "Napoleon Dynamite" where one of the characters (named Pedro) was running for his high school's president. I know it doesn't sound very funny, but if you've seen it it's pretty hilarious.

And as far as the sights go, i have some on a H&K USPc, but I've never heard of anyone being able to replace the tritium in them. Your best bet, as you have said, is to contact Heinie. Good luck, because if it goes how I think it's gonna go, then it will cost more to replace the inserts than in would to replace the sites, if they even do it.

Indeed I am referring to "Napoleon Dynamite." Artz.....rent the movie; it's pretty funny stuff.

The inserts still glow, but are very dim. I know Trijicon will replace inserts....I wonder if they will do Heinie replacements if Heinie doesn't do it themselves....

They replace and install vials. I had them install a set of white outline vials in my Baer Stinger sights and am very satisfied. Their turnaround time was 2 weeks.

Thanks Chuck....I completely forgot about Tooltech....they installed my BHP night sights almost 20 years ago.

If you want the tritium inserts replaced/installed in your sights you will have to send them to a company equipped to do so. As I recall Heinie uses the same people for his tritium inserts as we do, Trijicon, and they would be my first, last, and only recommendation for suppliers of tritium lamps. Turnaround for our orders is about 10-14 days depending on how many sights I have sent them with the order. That said, since we drill and prep our own sights Trijicon is only installing the tritium lamps and as such it may take a bit longer if you are having them drill the sights as well as inlay the lamps.
