    Can't find pants that fit

I am in the market for some tactical and/or camo pants . I have no problem finding tons of different types of pants to choose from, the issue I am having is I just find low rise pants, like Levi's 559 series jeans, to be way more comfortable. All the tactical pants fit at the waist and I find myself pushing these down to my hips so that I don't look like a dork. It is just my body type.

Does anyone know of any decent tactical pants that have a lower rise to them?

I have pretty much settled on 5.11's. They provide the fit I need and are tough as they come.

Not having hips (SWBS: skinny white boy syndrome), I'm betting the reason you can't find low rise tactical pants would be due to the pants typically needing to hold up a decent amount of weight, thus having to give a belt something to hang onto. I have enough trouble as it is with regular pants, and if a shirt I have to tuck in is slightly slick, it's all over.

But another set to look at might be the LA Policegear brand...I've found them to be a bit lower than some others I have.

What does "low rise" mean? Anything like "high speed-low drag" or "double whammy-triple throw down"? This is kinda the way things started on the "Commando" thread that burned itself up the other day.

Another vote for 5.11. I am 6'4" and 210, and I also do not like my pants up high.

I am a dork, so I don't mind looking like one.

I just wear pants that aren't to stained and don't have large holes in them

I really like Eotec pants but they went bankrupt, so 24-7's are my next favorites

If you want to let everyone know you have been around the block and really know what's going on, I suggest you wear your pants right up under your armpits. IWB then becomes a shoulder holster.

I'm just going to be honest, every time I see somebody wearing "tactical" pants or shoes/boots (unless they are military or LEO) i just think, "wow, what a toolbag".

I know thats not fair, but its just the way it is. These are almost always the guys that you just dont want to get trapped speaking with at the LGS or you could be there over an hour to see that there isnt any ammo that you want because they are going to tell you the following:

    Obama sucks
A story about every gun theyve owned
A story about why their caliber is the best
A story about the ammo conspiracy
    A story about their dog
    A story about their ex-wife
    A story about price gouging
A story about why my caliber is ineffective
    A story about Obama....
A story about how guns dont kill
A story about their cold dead hands
    A story about Obama
A story containing miscellaneous "facts" about gun violence and gun control

I'm not even saying I wont agree with them on some of the stuff. I just dont need to hear it EVERY time I try to pick up some ammo.

Like i said, I know its not fair, but if i see you coming near me in some 5.11's or god forbid, camo (again, unless you are clearly military) I'm ducking out.

I'm not anti social and I love making friends but I have to minimize the rhetoric somehow and this has proven to be pretty effective.

    Good luck buying your pants.

Never mind, I don't want to know what "low rise" means anymore. After reading above, I'm not wearing anything but jeans or a bathing suit. Maybe both at the same time!

I've worn Levis since I was a kid back in the 40s and 50s, so I too like my pants to ride "low". I can't stand the waist-under-the-arm-pits-I'm-prepared-for-a-flood dork look! That being said, I do wear 5.11 cargo pants on the rare occasion when I'm not wearing Levis. And I couldn't give a rats backside if someone else thinks they look "tactical"! Actually, living near a military base and a college, you see all kinds of different types of clothes being worn, from jeans with holes to 3 piece suits. Most people don't even give anyone else a second look! And even if they did, I'm old enough and secure enough in my "being" to not care what anyone else things about how I'm dressed anyway! I quit worrying about the dress code and image when I retired. (And for that matter, I actually quit worrying about what others thought a few years before I retired).

Wow Yarg, you really wanted to get THAT off your chest didn't ya'? Geez, just from a guy asking where to find pants? Maybe you should start a blog.

Come on. I am just trying to find some pants that fit for some classes I am going to take. As the sign says:

    Yes :)
Like I said, it's not fair because I know everyone that wears them isn't a rhetoric monster BUT the percentage is high enough that there's just too much risk.

Admittedly, I'm told to start a blog about once a week. I think it's a nice way of saying "tell someone that is interested". ;)
