    Reloading a revolver

    First in a series

There are many more options for reloading a revolver than for reloading an autoloading pistol. They all have advantages and disadvantages. Broadly speaking, they can be divided into three categories; speedloaders, speed strips, and belt carriers. A fourth type, the moonclip, was originally designed as a way of using rimless ammunition in revolvers.

There are several manufacturers of speedloaders. Each manufacturer’s product is different and has different operating characteristics.

Chuck Norris just glares at his revolver, and it loads itself.

It is good to refresh the memory and to illustrate to newer folks what is available for revolver loading. Good article. Some have never seen these items while others will be bored from seeing this stuff for years. But speedloaders can make your day a bit easier if you use them.

I go between the Safariland, HKS and 2 Bianchi Speedstrips. Nor extremely fast with any () but they give me a bit of help, keep the reload rounds together and give me another aspect of my routine(s) for practice!!! Thanks for the article!

A moon clip. There's no telling how many times I've watched that vid. I can't believe it happened in my own state and I missed it.

Can you imagine the looks on the faces of 3-4 thugs trying to jump this guy?! He'd a shot 'em all 3-4 times before they realized what happened!

He could just crush them with his grip.

I wonder if Jerry does his own smithing? How'd you like to be responsible for keeping that trigger tuned?

Grip placement is like shot placement. I like your style 40Bob. My grip is fairly modest, actually. I have a kuboton or a flashlight for those "get a real grip" moments.

I'm sure this is heresy, but about four years ago I sold all my revolvers. I finally decided that, in a fast draw situation, I was horrible with target and groupings - just imagine if someone did not stand still for me...
Second, reloading was a joke. In a Mas Ayoob class, he talked about adrenalin and fear. Your vision narrows and you involuntarily begin to shake. I had a more than hard enough time, even with speedloaders, getting my ammo in at just the range. I can only imagine what it would be like if my life depended on it.
