Ok I found some info on this light complete with specs and cost. It looks like it may be available for purchase.. About 225.00. Batts and charger is an extra 75.00.

This thing outputs 4100 lumens. A normal D Cell Mag puts out about 50 lumens.

and for how long you can hold it in your hand before the heat gets to you?

    I'll Bring Over My SureFire...

and hold it so you can read the 'bill' on those other purchases!
My little 60-65 lumens works quite well and lasts...a long time (90min?)...
    4,500 lumens...who is attacking?...the entire 5th regiment?

    I'll stick with SureFire...

That video was decently neat. Very impressive/innovative flashlight.
Don't use it to read a book under the covers in bed.

I guess that means he didn't see the light?

There is also a pretty cool website with folks that are making some custom flashlights.

I am not a flashlight guy and don't know about electronics, but I was pretty impressed with some of the work here.

    Check it out.

Who said "light sabers" were only in the movies?!

Even with a run time of 10 minutes, that puppy has got to be hot to the touch! Good party light though... "Got a light?" "Sure, hold out your cig." "aaaaaaaaahhhhh! My face! My face!"
