I saw the rep for Second Chance (IIRC) do the same thing years ago when I was still in LE. He obviously used some very low-dose ammo and was sure to hit the plate.
VERY low risk. If he didn't have a plate or two in there and used some duty-ammo, he would not have remained standing, been there.

It is just goofy marketing tricks. It looks way stupider than it is, but I still wouldn't do the deceptive stunt.

I like how he was very careful not to sweep his head right before pointing it at his heart.

I wouldn't do it, but certainly don't mind if someone else wants to build my confidence in the body armor. I'm not sure what the point is of testing IIIA armor against a .45 though. I'll be impressed when he uses 7.62x54...

I wouldnt do it myself. If he wants to its his hide hes risking.

BTW we dont have a cause, we have an enumerated and constitutionally protected right. Folks trying to save the Ferrets, " yeah I have met them they are an actual group) have a cause.

Actually I have some admiration for the makers and sellers of body armor doing the "stunt." It's a way of taking personal responsibility for the product you're selling. If you tell people that your armor will save their lives, and expect them to put their trust in it in high-risk situations, then you should believe it works. Those people likely WILL have loaded weapons pointed at them at some point, despite any safety rules.

But some random dude just doing it for no reason would indeed be stupid.

If he is selling the product what is the problem standing behind it? Our society has become to accustom to products not working, he is only proving that his stuff works. I have seen others do the same thing, one is behind bullet resistant glass for autos and has a fifty cal, if I recall correctly fired at it.
