I agreee with Leadslinger I picked up a Dorcy for under 20 bucks and it lives in the nightstand. I then went and bought 2 more and they live in each car. You can not beat it for the price. Try it, it'll only cost you $20 at the most

I'm going to research your recommendations and will likely use one of them as the gift. I appreciate you folks taking the time. Have a wonderful, safe holiday season.

+1 Dorcy Spyder
Well leadslinger and I shop at the same place. I picked up a Dorcy Spyder a few years ago, and love it. Brightest flashlight I have ever owned and under $20. I know have 6 of them. wife, nightstand, RV, belt, hunting pack, snowmobile pack. You can order from sportsmans guide also.
I really don't think you would be disappointed...
I would have to go with the Surefire E1L, It seems to fit all your requirements.
clipse
Well the Cyclops with Xenon bulb has done very well by me. Batteries are cheap online and I got 2 new lights (one for the car and one for the house) for $36 incl. shipping off of Ebay (no clip or case incl.).
No HALO jumps, desert/jungle LRPs so I don't see the need for a $100 light.
I have just put in a preorder for the new Lumapower D-Mini Cree-LED.....sounds kinda geeky, but its one hell of a light! 4 inches, with a 28 mm reflector, drives the LED to a whopping 135 Lumens for 75 minutes on a single CR123. The only thing about it....it lacks a clip.
