One thing I have in my suburban is a power inverter that gives me house current at the flip of a switch. The one I have is enough to power stuff like my electric chain saw, or my blender Something else I like to keep available is a couple ounces of gold in 0.1, .25 and .50 ounce American Eagles. I also have silver. Depending on the SHTF scenario going EOTWAWKI "cash" might just become Charmin by another name.

My version of a BOT:


All hand built on a custom frame, HO injected 5.0l V8, onboard air, onboard welder, full bevy of tools, room enough for the wife, baby and dogs. Trailer pulls behind it and we can go anywhere, come hell or high water.

One of those welders would be nice, however not very practical for a college student to buy.

As far as ruining cops and trespassing being good ways to get shot. I have spent enough of my life on farms, and moving machinery and vehicles on them to know better than to run straight through the fields ready to be harvested or in some other way that would tear up the crops. And shooting someone for trespassing last time I checked was a bad idea in Ohio. This idea would be purely for a SHTF scenario, and as long as I was tearing up their property and crops, I think that most people would have bigger things on their mind than shooting at a moving truck driving in an empty section of field.

i don't know about this... if it is SHTF, then all bets are off and people are playing for keeps. what if 50 other guys decide to cut across some farmer's field? he's gonna get mighty pissed about it sooner or later.

other thing to add to your kit is some some of water purification system. i'm a big fan of the MSR sweet water system.

Most of what you have listed are items that I think should be carried for a winter survival kit if you live in a place that has ice & snow and drive out of town. So I don't think most of the items are "over the top". Also, trucks are made to haul stuff, so the extra weight doesn't matter much if you need to carry "extras".

I didn't see jumper cables though. If you’re in college I guarantee it's a great way to meet girls........

THere are jumper cables, and a couple rolls of bailing wire. I have a 60 inch high lift jack with the bumper attachment.

I found a much better way than going through fields, so no farmers will be mad at me, and I won't hit traffic.

Yeah, I did SIXTO, and that looks like it will work at least until I get to the family horsefarm if not further (horses are much friendlier to the enviroment than my truck). That is the Bug out Plan I have for now so I can get to all my firearms and ammo.
