not sure if i missed it but mostly everyone is forgetting the one vital element to survival:

    FIRE!!

I usually keep a cheap bic lighter on me at all times... my winter jacket (which i wear if it's below freezing) has a small double ziploc w/ strike anywhere and waterproof matches and a flint stick and small amount of tinder/firestarter (petroleum jelly covered cotton balls).

aside from that, it's usually firearm, small folder (leatherman knife), extra mag, surefire E1E, sometimes multitool, cell phone.

Dang, some of you carry a lot!

I carry either a 1911 or J-frame depending on dress, along with a suitable reload. My Kershaw Leek, wallet and cell phone come along too. I'd really like to carry my Surefire G2, but haven't figured out how to do it unobtrusively. I have a bright LED on my keychain until I get that settled.

I like the firestarter idea - I'll have to add that to my glovebox at least. There's a Streamlight Propolymer in there as well.

Mo I highly recommend the Surefire E2E it is a great little light. Nice and bright. Small and has a pocket clip. I like it alot and have a G-2 and couple of 6P's that I have for work. The E2E will be for civies and the 6P and G2's will be for work now.

aside from gun, holster, and ammo...

its a leatherman, keys, wallet, phone, and my brain. Other survival remain in my car. Ya'll carry a bunch, I have found I do not enjoy much more than what I mentioned.

I would encourage you to get your CHL anyway. Some departments will require that you turn in your issue firearm, badge and ID as part of the post-shooting investigation, should you ever need to defend yourself. Having a CHL will allow you to legally carry a personal weapon under such circumstances (which might be real handy if the guy you shot has friends/family members prone to acts of revenge.)

    But, for the record:

    I carry (at minimum) a Glock 19, Glock 30 or a 5" 1911.

A couple of spare mags - 9's are loaded with Winchester RA9TA 127gr +P+, .45's are loaded with Golden Sabre (usually 230 gr).

I carry gun, extra ammo, keys, cell phone, flashlight, knife, backup flashlight, backup knife, leather Supertool200, backup flashlight, wallet, and extra money. Sometimes I'll carry another flashlight just for good measure. (or if I'm bored) I'll also carry my mp3 player at times. :)

I'll carry any two-three of these.

What model of SureFire is that at the very bottom of the photo? Looks like an E2e with a larger head to use P60/P61 bulbs.

    Glock-em,

That light looks a lot like the one I carry, Surefire E1e with a KL4 head.

This is a single cell 123 light, the KL4 is a led 5 watt head. Tons of light and plenty of battery life. Had mine on me everyday for 3 years and love it!

Man, some of you guys carry alot! I have just about everything most of you mentioned, but it's in my car.

On my person, I carry 1 or 2 guns. Now it's my Taurus Mil Pro PT145 & an extra mag in an IWB holster. If I carry a BUG, it's a Kahr PM9 or a S&W 442 in a pocket holster (Either one). A KISS knife/money clip (Strongside pocket), a Meyerco Blackie folder on weakside front pocket, a HAK on a neck chain, cell phone, & badge wallet with ID. A flashlight, 1st aid kit, walking stick, & everything else is in the car.
