I've seen a couple of good ones on Optics Planet in the past.
The pen may be mightier than the sword, but a .45 caliber sword on the right hip can come in pretty handy sometime.

Just beware of model numbers if you see a price much lower than others. For example, a Streamlight TLR-1 and a TLR-1HL. Both are good weapons lights but the HL is a newer model and lumen output much higher.
The standard TLR-1 maybe sufficient but know what you're getting.

I've got one of these on my G41 and like it.
    Amazon.com : Insight M3 Weapon Light : Gun Scopes : Sports & Outdoors
I have a TLR-1 on my shotgun, but if I buy another short range light it will be another M3.

This thread is about a light, not a defensive carry gun. Moved to the appropriate sub forum.

Also a "tactical" flashlight and a weapon mounted light are two different items used differently. It might be helpful to clarify which it is you are after.

I have an older m3 that I use occasionally- it's a good light not to bright but bright enough. I'd imagine the newer ones are a little better

Stick with Streamlight. Surefire or Insight. Buy from a creditable retailer. Read specs carefully. There are lots (and LOTS) of very authentic-looking junk clones available. I know because I was...fooled. Don't be ME!

The black plastic does go well with the black plastic
I like it's easy on and off rail system. No coin needed.

Ive had this TLR on various pistols, an AR and a shotgun.

TLR 3 isnt bad if you want something lighter and cheaper but I prefer the TLR 1. They also make one with a laser if you are into that sort of thing.
