You all know the old saying:
"When All You Have Is A Hammer Every Problem Starts To Look Like A Nail."
All Sprays Are Not Created Equal.
This is one of those products that I tested myself. I honestly believe that it outperforms every other spray defense product of its type "out there" on the market today.
It a true viable alternative to deter a possible attack for those times when a first use of a deadly firearm may not be appropriate for a given episode of personal self defense.
In my opinion it is probably at least threefold more effective than the leading CS Spray used by the majority of Law Enforcement. I won't mention any specific product names.
Due to its unique formulation it really does open the pores of the skin on contact and THAT - in combination with the highest percentage of active ingredient on the market (and the high volume of material released) - makes it is extremely effective for its intended purpose.
One slight disadvantage for Law Enforcement Use might be that it does not very easily rinse off after a Bad Guy is cuffed/subdued.
A "PLUS" is that due to the way Guard Alaska is canned & does not chemically react with the container material ~ It does not require an Expiration Date.
Quality Control is amazingly high & it will work should you ever need to use it.
It's slightly on the expensive side. It is worth the increased price.
Go to the Guard Alaska web site & scroll down & click on the small, short, video block. That will (at least) give you an idea of the amazing volume of material that is released when you use it. It has a very effective range.
I keep the largest size can in the car. You might want to consider buying a smaller size for personal carry in addition to your defensive firearm.
There really ARE possible situations where you would not use deadly force but would NOT hesitate to use a KNOWN TRULY EFFECTIVE non lethal repellent spray. Trust me again...this product will end your average Road Rage Scenario in an awful big hurry.

    Fox

Think I will stick with a proven product--proven on the streets, as we are real short on bears here in Indiana.

Their failure to follow any sort of industry standard would worry me.

If the product is good, I am sure we will see it in use on the streets, and be able to get a feeling for the ability of the product.

    Question?

"Their failure to follow any sort of industry standard would worry me."

Just curious.......Where did you get that from?

I believe that their product exceeds all industry standards.
They are fairly new in the lower 48 though.

From reading what they wrote. What industry standards?

Because it worked on a black bear that you could kill with a baseball bat, it is going to work on people? Don't think I can get one of the cannisters used in a pocket, or on a belt.

When is has been demonstrated useful on the street, when tested against Fox, and if it is cheaper than Fox, then it might get my consideration.

    Site does have neat graphics!

EPA now sets standards as to how OC works???? I don't think so.

    No Argument

I'm very familiar with the Fox Lab sprays & they are absolutely fine & extremely effective with a good volume of release.
Guard Alaska (by the way) is listed as product that is also for sale on the Fox Labs Official Web Site.
    Same chemical makeup.

Did not see it on Fox International site, but if you say so. I have carried Fox for several years, and have given it to loved ones. Not current (getting old) but was a certified OC instructor for many years. Saw lots of stuff that was not real good or effective, so I take new announcements with a large amount of salt.

    Understandable

No...I am the one getting old.
Totally "falling apart" would be more like it!
All of my old bone breaks & fractures are finally slowing me down.
I would never suggest that any LEO Dept. switch to any product without them doing their own testing evaluation. I should have made myself clear on that. My fault.
