My E2e does have a "clicky" tailcap. I have found it rather easy to activate even with it being locked out.
The holder that I have my G2 in is a Perfect Fit Inc leather holster with a snap top and no bottom. It does not turn on when I sit down. But I did notice that while taking it out a few times tonight, it does not come out as easy as the Strion did. Possibly this is because the grip has more grooves in it on the G2 than the Strion.
I went on the Blackhawk website and was unable to find the CQC holder that you are referring to. I would need one that rides by itself. I would prefer flat black to carbon fiber.
I carry the E2L fore everyday and carry in by it's pocket clip. As for the Ge, 6P, 9P, M3, E2D and all the others I have they go in a pouch if their really big or I shove them in a pocket.
Surefire is the best over all light. IMHO
Who has the best places online for the G2 and the Streamlight Scorpion?
I hust purchased a G2 from here: http://newgraham.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=58
for $31.50. It hasn't showed up yet since I ordered it yesterday, but that is the cheapest I found.
My buddy John at www.lighthound.com sells SureFire G2's for $35 SHIPPED! I also get a dozen Energizer batts from him for about $25 SHIPPED.
He's the best, IMO.
What's the difference between E2e vs E2d? (besides price...smart@$$s) :hand5:
The E2D has the neat little "sawteeth" at the front of the bezel for delivering blows to your assailant...if necessary. It also has a "protected" tailcap switch.
Other than that (and about $15 more) - same light!
I just went to www.surefire.com and discovered that they now have a SureFire G3! It's basically a polymer 9P!
I GOTTA HAVE ONE!!!:danceban:
Well, I just got done testing my G2 with the Scorpion LED light and the Scorpion was much better at lighting up an object at greater distances. I was testing the throw of the two lights and my Scorpion LED beat the G2 hands down. At 75yds I could see a big difference in illumination.
I'm trying to get my digital camera to take some pictures and compare them.
How dose the surefire L5 LumaMax® stack up to the essential gear Luxeon V ? 100 vs. 120 lumen's and a big price difference. I am wondering if the effective run time at peek output is different. Dose the Luxeon V have a tail-cap switch?

I have 3 new additions to my SureFire family! About 3-4 weeks ago, I bought a G3 (AWESOME light) I just ordered a new 6P since mine got "stolen" by a co-worker (I sold it to him for $30) and I also have an OD green G2 in the mail, courtesy of Echo Four - thanks ol' buddy! :hand10:
With the exception of a SureFire X200A rail light for my OD Glock 22 and a 623FGA for my Mossberg 590, I'm pretty well set as far as SureFires go...unless, of course, I find an M6 Guardian at a ******* price somewhere!
If you're looking for a LED light to compete against incandescents, then you'll have a hard time finding one with the throw of incandescents. One that is pretty impressive is the Lumapower M1. It is about the same size as the G2, uses the same batteries, but puts out half again as much throw and is considerably brighter than the G2-- all with longer run times.
Here are a couple of links
Review of M1
This is a pathetic attempt at making a table to show some comparisons between some of the lights mentioned the most here:
Light Throw Output
Lumapower M1 Hunter (1 Cree) 2x123a smooth high 83.94 83.00
Streamlight Stinger (Incand) 98.59 70.00
Streamlight Strion (Incand) 85.12 50.00
Surefire G2 (P60) (Incand) 59.45 52.00
Surefire E2d (MN03) (Incand) 36.41 40.00
Right now I have my G2 mounted on my AR, but as soon as I can afford one, I'm going to get an M1 to replace it. I'll make my G2 my camping light.
