V70 Speed Holster for Surefire G2
I was thinking of buying the V70 speed holster that Surefire sells for several of their flashlights. Mine is the G2. Currently I am carrying it in the same snap top holster that I used to carry my Strion in. It is working OK, but it doesn't come out as smooth as I would like.
This would be carried on a 2 1/4" duty belt. I have been carrying bezel up for over 11 years now, so I would like to continue carrying that way. Does the V70 do a good job at preventing the light from being turned on?

I hear that the V70 can sometimes activate the button. I've never owned one, but I did look at one, and I decided not to buy it. It had a little piece of spring steel inside of it that acted as a retention device. IMO, it acted as a DESTRUCTION device! It looked like it would leave marks on your G2 each and everytime you removed/inserted the flashlight.
Get a Blackhawk CQC carbon fiber flashlight carrier along with their single magazine pouch and their dual rail accessory belt loop. The flashlight pouch WILL NOT accidentally activate the tailcap button! It was what I used before I got my SureFire G3...now my G2 gets to ride in an AWESOME Galco M.F.P. mag/flashlight paddle when I'm off duty. The Blackhawk CQC flashlight pouch and magazine pouch mount beside each other on the dual rail accessory belt loop that fits PERFECTLY on a duty belt. I used to carry my G2 and a multi-tool in it. AWESOME!

No noticable marks on my G2. Never had it turn on the tail switch either.

Well...the little piece of metal just kinda spooked me away. It may very well be an excellent choice in a light carrier...like I said, my "hands on" experience with the V70 IS uneducated...but the Blackhawk CQC carrier that I mentioned ROCKS!
