Pepper Spray: Fog or Stream?
(Moderators, if this is in the incorrect forum, my apologies. . .)
So guys, I've been carrying pepper spray for some time, and it has always been the Fox Labs cone (fog) pattern.
I'm interested in hearing the opinions of the members of this board on whether they prefer the cone pattern or the narrower stream pattern. (From what I've read thus far, the fog allows for faster incapacitation but the stream allows for better performance in wind. . . )
Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Dan

Dan,
This forum is fine!
We have discussed this in the past and I guess it comes down to what we perceive individually as better.
I choose stream - for two reasons. First is distance factor, or ''reach'' if you will. Second is with regard to not getting a faceful of my own ''brew'' if wind direction is against me.

Chris,
Thanks a bunch for the reply. I agree that a lot of this has to do with personal preference, and I appreciate you taking the time to share your opinions.

I'm with stream for both distance and the wind factor. The fog has its place, but I think stream is the way to go for any outside possibilities.

I'm another "streamer" as well.

Fog because I would expect to have to use it in close proximaty. I've done practice runs with mace and pepper sprays, and even the streams blew back at me in the wind. I'm not a LEO so I have a different perception of mace/pepper spray uses. I would rather blast a cloud and retreat instead of charging someone with it.

Stream Here...
and DPS spray will hit at 12-15' easily...
Distance helps keep it out of your own face...
Stay armed...stay safe!

i'd go with stream. i used a fog type to "shoo" away a neighbor's dog some years ago, and ended up getting myself, too. how about foam types?

kimber guardian angel life act here. it'll shoot 15 ft in less than a second. contains no aerosol so it's not going to get caught up in the wind. you just need to be at least 2 ft from the person you are spraying so you don't get any splattered on you. it comes out at 90 mph.
