Has anyone bought the cheapo 123 lithium batteries from Ebay? I have seen them for as low as $12 a dozen shipped. I was hoping someone has done a comparison test on these. Is it a case of you get what you pay for or can you go cheap.

I think Betty(a mod) had some cheap batteries that exploded in a light. Not sure though. An alternative I have found, rechargable 123's and charger off e- bay.

I have some "battery station" batteries that aren't too bad. I'm not sure they last as long as the brand names but I haven't had and explosions.

Exploding doesn't sound good but if the last a little less I could probably live with that. Hmmmm, decisions decisions.

The battery I had that exploded was a Pentagonlight battery, and I've heard those are made in the same factory as Surefire ones (but I could be mistaken). As far as I know, no water came in contact with the battery. The light was a Surefire G2 Nitrolon (the battery blew the bulb, lens & o-rings right across the room!). I use Pentagonlights in my E2E with no problem.

The only cheapies that I use are from http://www.amondotech.com .
Most of the cheap ones are no name but sone are panasonic which is a pretty good brand that I can trust. Maybe I will take a chance. I also found a set of 4 rechargeabel batteries ans charger for about $16 which might be an even better deal.

I have used rechargable 123 batteries for about a year now with good luck.

I too got two boxes at $15 per box and they'll do me a while yet but ... I am interested in the rechargeables as another option - must check ebay.

I also use the Titanium brand batteries from Amondo Tech. I like them well enough. Most of my daily use flashlights are rechargeable anyway though. Still the Amondo Tech batteries are good especially for the price. Here check this review out.
