I don't know. She's just modeling the shirt. At my age I want the shirt. She would kill me, but I would have a smile of contentment on my face going.

Thats why I try to buy localy and not on line. 20% restocking is a bit too much.

Tom, You did imply a threat to trash me if I didnt comply with your demand. You have made good on that threat but I also told you I would defend myself.

First of all you bought a black bag which is the color that the specifics are all listed, including the size. So you did see the size before you ordered it. I did take it back and tried to get you to do an exchange which I do at full value. The 20% is a restocking fee to cover costs associated with processing but is only applied to refunds for reasons such as your, "I didnt like it". For example Amex charges 3.5% and I dont get that back when i issue a credit.

You asked me to get you a surefire light for 165.00. I explained I didnt sell those and showed you an ebay auction where you could save much more than the restocking fee and be ahead of the game. I also held onto the bag for a week while you made up your mind. I even had it sold at a 10.00 discount but you told me you may want it back so I held it. In fact you told me to send it back once.

Yes the plastic was ripped open when you could have just slipped it out the opening on the end. Who ever got it would know somebody had already been in it so I had to disclose that fact to who ever bought it. I have not sold that bag yet since i just got the instruction from you Friday to issue a refund on your card.

Tom, You are really trying hard to make me look bad. You claim I acted like "I gotcha"when you informed you it was on the way back. Tom, that is a lie. You called me to tell me you might send it back but would think about it. Next thing I know it was here. I have your note that said you wanted a full refund and you would talk nice about me on the 1911 forum. So I believe you knew the return policy beforehand. I sent you one email asking if you wanted an exchange or a refund according to the return policy. No reply. I then called your office and got the office email address and sent it again. I went out of my way to try to make you happy without compromising the policy you agreed to when you ordered it. It just wasnt possible.

You and others may feel the 20% is unfair. Its the terms I choose to do business with. I would rather not make a sale than to have to eat the costs and work for free. I am so busy I dont have time to waste dealing with returns although i am glad to do exchanges. I have many customers who know what they want that expect me to get their orders out the same day. I offer allot more to compensate for it. I give personal service and advice on all the equipment I sell which is mostly geared to competition shooting. I admit if you are not into competition shooting I may not be the source for you, if you are there is none better.

Chuckdvc, I don't think a 20% restock is unfair! I have been in small businesses one way or the other for over 20 years. If everyone thinks it's easy or a great way to get rich then try it for yourself one day and you will get your bubble burst.

We do some mail order in our present shop and also have done some in another, past, business. Credit cards charge the seller points, nonrefundable. Honest folks have to admit that the item is being resold so there's a discount, another loss. Processing a return takes time and especially in small business time really is money folks.

Now the general public thinks that we are all taking them to the proverbial cleaners it seems but if that was so how come most small business guys are running so tight on cash? We have a known profit margin that we have to achieve or it becomes pointless to even be in business. When we go below that it's time to close the doors. Yet when you are in business you will hear a never ending string of cries about your policies, prices you name it. Get over it folks. Read the deal, take it or leave it and if you are to lazy to check then live with it.
If you stand up and be counted, from time to time you may get yourself knocked down. But remember this: A man flattened by an opponent can get up again. A man flattened by conformity stays down for good. ~ Thomas J. Watson, Jr.

Chuck, doing business with you was not a pleasant experience. Your terms are your terms. I did not read your "Return Policies" tab and paid for it. My bad.

I am suggesting to the readership that there are other on line stores that carry more items that are more customer friendly and that do not have your 20% restocking fee policy. There are many on line retailers that do not charge a restocking fee such as:

    1. Cabellas
    2. Bagmaster
    3. Midway USA
    4. Wiskur Tactical
    5. Brownells

Here are only 5 on line retailers that do not charge a restocking fee and it took me all of 2 minutes to look the policies up!

It is your business and you are free, of course, to try to do what ever the market will bear. I am suggesting that it is not necessary for a potential customer to subject him or herself to your policies.

No Tom, Lets tell it the way it is, you went on here to retaliate for you not getting your way. Some of the companies you listed only work at full retail price. I try to create a balance thats really fair. I try to cut discounts where I can, offer personal professional service, and offer fair policies. My market is competitve shooters. I am a shooter and at one point was one of the best in the country so I have that level of knowledge to offer my customers.

Tom, whats really pitiful is the extent you went to try and portray me to make your point. Saying I was undercapitalized and you were taking my last dime. Maybe this is the pot calling the kettle black since you are the one making the big stink over the properly disclosed return policy. Its obvious your point couldnt stand on its own merit and why you stooped so low.

Chuck - welcome aboard - tho sorry for you it is for the reason here.

I am staying outa the fight and just observing. I am glad you came to defend yourself - it balances the equation and I hope your explanation helps most folks ..... seems logical to me.

Anyways - all I'd ask now is, that we do not have an ongoing battle between you and Tom - unless you guys wish to take it to PM which is fine. Seems most has been covered that needs covered - ideally I'd like to see both parties agree to disagree perhaps and move on as probably little more to be gained thru further exchanges.

chris I agree. I will honor your request to end it where it is as long as more attacks are not made if then feel free to step in. I dont mind answering any questions any of the readers have for me. I am sure that would be appropriate as long as it did not digress.

I am glad one of my customers pointed this forum out to me since I am avid about CCW rights. I will be sure to cruise more of it in the future.

Glad I found out about the policy. I am looking for a range bag myself, and now at least I know the danger because I wouldn't have read it either. 20% is too much. I understand wanting to recover your costs. But, if AmEx charges 3.5% there is a 16.5% profit in there. That said, it is your business. If you chose, you could have a no refund policy. Just something to think about before I replace the tiny range bag I have now.

Nothing from me either*I am done. Folks like Echo Four show me that my posts about Shooter's Connection 20% restocking fee was worthwhile.
Try the other companies and you will not get stung.

Fair enough - I will then close this thread, as it has IMO served it's purpose now. Thank you to all contributors.
