It is suppose to put more light on the subject. So I'm told. I use my normal glasses.

My take is that the yellow enhances contrast - filters out the blue - most effective in lower light levels.

I have some but not used them much ... certainly tho things appear ''crisper'' with them.

Yellow tends to help brighten things. Great on cloudy days, poorly lighted indoor ranges and near dusk on the range.

IMO when are you going to have yellow glasses on in the real world. Probably never. I wear clear.

I wear them for Cowboy Action Shooting, mostly because we use steel targets and it's not at all uncommon to feel lead shards hit you. (Your eyes are probably the only place that the hot lead could really hurt you.) I hate the general "yellow" color of most shooting glasses, especially because they don't fit with the whole "Cowboy" thing but on the other hand my regular glasses don't wrap around to keep the lead out.

It just takes one little hot shred of lead to make you keep your wide brimmed hat and wrap around glasses on.

But..yes...I wish it was easier to find clear shooting glasses.

I like using yellow for contrast. I got a set of 3 lens glasses just for range shooting. tinted, clear and yellow.
