I have not, but do like my Original SAWT boots with side zippers. Those should be in your price range too.

rocky...Thanks
Well, if they have zips then I'll look at those too...for sure.
I think the side zipper is a great idea in combination with the laces.
I'm up for anything less than (or right around) 100 bucks.

I used to wear side-zipped combat boots in the military. You might check out Brigade Quartermaster or other places that cater to the military.

Glad that helped, QK. A lot of armor guys wear the side zipped and the kind with a long leather strap that wraps around the ankle and lower leg. I really liked the zippers so you could cool your feet during downtime.

When I was in the service, I used to purchase leather zippers that you laced into the front of your combat boots using the laces from the boots. Once you laced them in, you ended up with a zipper in the front where the laces used to be. I liked them alot but I've never worn a zippered boot in the military that fit as well as a tied boot that had the right kind of laces. Some laces are absolutely worthless! But some are a dream!
Anyway, you might be able to use the zippers you "lace in" on a favorite pari of boots if you'd just like the convenience.

Thorogood Side Zips
Shooter,
In addition to being a volunteer firefighter, I run with several different EMS agencies. Most of them require boots while on duty, and after going through several sets, I've settled on the Thorogood Side Zips. Why? It turns out my local dealer carried them. I bought a pair for right around $90, and haven't looked back.
I love my boots, i laced them up, and then I broke them in. After I had them broken in, i went back and relaced them. I haven't touched the laces since (the bows are tucked in between the tongue and the laces). I wear them at least once a week, usually for more then 12 hours at a clip, and absolutely love them.
