EoTech Or Bushnell Holosight?
This is a discussion on EoTech Or Bushnell Holosight? within the Related Gear & Equipment forums, part of the Defensive Carry Discussions category; Well, Bushnell were the folks that first invented or produced the Holographic Weapon Sight.
And then somehow - some way...(that I'm not sure about) EoTech ...

Is this a 'serious' rifle that you'll be using for self defense? If your life may depend on it, I'd go with EOTech. They seem to be considerably more ruggedized.

I'd call it a secondary serious back~up type rifle of mine.
Hummmm.....I could buy the Bushnell Holosight and then if I didn't think it would work out for me on my rifle ~ I could pop it onto the Remington Nylon 66 .22 semi-auto rifle for Good Old Mrs. QKShooter - so it would not be a real waste of $$$.
Forgive me...I'm thinking out loud in public here.

The Bushnell HoloSight is essentially an EoTech 511 without the rubberized control panel and the crash cage over the top of the sight.
Personally, I would advocate going with the EoTech and getting the 512 so you can use readily available, inexpensive AA batteries instead of those N cells in the 511 / Bushnell.

Blame it on Sixto - now that is a viable plan.

Eotech is more rugged but the guts are essentially the same. If a range toy then go with the Bushnell. If you plan on depending on your rifle when you need it, go Eotech. The Eotech has the shroud over the glass for protection.
I have the 512 on my 3-gun rifle and I love it. Very fast and accurate.

Get a C-more; It has a lower profile than an EOtech or Bushnell, is lighter and you have a greater field of view with a C-more.

C-More
The C-More sights are great but, they are not holographic sights.
They are illuminated red dot or illuminated reticle sights where the focus of the illuminated POI remains at the firearm/sight location.
There is a difference and the true holographic image system is an entirely different optical principle where the optically created illusion is that the POI is actually projected out to and onto the intended target.

The Eotech can be mounted on the LaRue LT mount designed specific for the Eotech series. You'll get the lift you want to co witness the front sight or the rear sight.
I own the Eotech 552 and 553 and two Aimpoints, M2 and M3. Personally I'm more of a fan of the Aimpoint red dots with a LaRue Cantilever mount. Use the Troy rear flip BUIS and an A.R.M.S 40L rear on two of my AR's
For me the Eotech seems way to busy compared to a simple red dot, but that's just me.
Perhaps your sole purpose in life is to serve as a warning to others.

You know this pic of old QK - the BFR! But - I put on the Bushnell as it was on offer and IIRC obtained for about $169 ... and while it has the dreaded N battery I can accept that happily.
Shot the gun at weekend and still - hitting the steel at 100 yards, every time ... so sight setting holds fine. Not sure I want to spend Eotech money!

P95...oh that's right. Chris has one!
Chris...if you got that for anywhere around 169 then you got a heckova good deal.
Well, if it's holding up on your Mag Research then that's good enough for me.
I can pick one up new for a good price - still in box - (previously purchased but, never installed or used)
The guy decided he didn't want to drill and tap his shotty receiver for a weaver mount.
Yeah...the "N" batteries don't bother me...they are decently readily available.
